

About Jimin Han
"A testament to her bravery and brilliance," (New York Concert Review), Dr. Jimin Han is a South Korean pianist acclaimed for her "insight and intelligence in a connoisseur's program" (New York Classical Review). She combines profound musicality with a passionate commitment to both classical and contemporary repertoire.
Dr. Han earned her Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) and Artist Diploma from The Hartt School, University of Hartford, where she completed her dissertation on the "Stylistic Transformation of Samuel Barber's Piano Works." Prior to her studies in the U.S., she received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Piano Performance from Yonsei University in Seoul, and is an alumna of the prestigious Sunhwa Arts Middle and High School.
Her career is highlighted by significant international performances. In November 2024, supported by a grant from the Arts Council Korea, she made her debut at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall. She has also completed a four-city recital tour of the Netherlands at the invitation of Roverde Arts Management. Her performances have graced major stages in Korea, including the Seoul Arts Center, Sejong Chamber Hall, Seongnam Arts Center, and Kumho Art Hall. Dr. Han has appeared in cities across China, Puerto Rico, the United States, and Europe, performing concertos with orchestras such as the Guiyang Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Song Orchestra, and The Hartt Symphony Orchestra in works by Rachmaninoff, Bartók, and Barber.
A dedicated champion of new music, Dr. Han has premiered numerous works, including the China premiere of Unsuk Chin’s Complete Études, in which she was honored as a featured soloist at the Hangzhou Contemporary Music Festival. She also gave the world premiere of Heejung Park’s "Bluebird Suite" and the Korean premiere of works by Deqing Wen. During her time at The Hartt School, she served as a core pianist for the 20/20 Ensemble, which specializes in contemporary music. Her excellence has been recognized with top prizes from the Paranov Concerto Competition, the Hartford Chopin International Piano Competition, and the Paderewski International Piano Competition.
As a passionate educator, Dr. Han holds teaching positions as an Adjunct Professor at Yonsei University and as a faculty member at Deokwon Arts High School and Sunhwa Arts Middle & High School, nurturing the next generation of musicians in Seoul.
